Marie-Soleil Lacoursière joined the BDC Board of Directors in June 2023.
Ms. Lacoursière is a highly regarded leader with over 15 years of management experience in the mining and energy sectors. A long-term Northerner, her career has always been at the intersection of business, sustainability and technology. She focuses on ensuring meaningful opportunities are afforded for all, particularly Indigenous people. In addition to her current role with a Canadian senior gold mining producer, she is also a partner at Morin’s Fisheries, an innovative commercial fishery located on Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories.
She has extensive experience serving on boards of directors, including her current role with Prosper NWT, and her former role with the Northwest Territories Business Development and Investment Corporation.
Ms. Lacoursière is also a highly decorated academic. She is a certified Board Candidate with a CDI.D designation from Corporate Directors International and a CGB.D sustainability designation from the Competent Board Institute. She holds a joint master’s degree in governance and Entrepreneurship in Northern and Indigenous Areas from the University of Saskatchewan and the Arctic University of Norway Tromsø, and a Graduate Diploma in Operations Management from McGill University, among other degrees and certifications.
